After a busy summer at Wharton Point Landing left Maquoit Bay spotted with litter, local students gathered to clean up the trash before snow buries it for the winter. This student-led event brought together Morse and Brunswick high school students in a cross-community effort to protect the coastal environment. The cleanup was organized by the Brunswick Environmental Club, a group of high school students committed to supporting Brunsiwck’s environmental efforts. The group of 22 students and two teachers cleaned Wharton Point Landing and the surrounding coastal area. They filled 22 trash bags with items such as fast food containers, plastic straws and wrappers.
