State officials address Fairfield residents on investigation into contaminated farmland, drinking water

MORNING SENTINEL • November 18, 2020

State officials told the Fairfield Town Council that so far, the Department of Environmental Protection has tested 28 wells with 12 exceeding the limit for 'forever chemicals' set by the EPA. The contamination at the Tozier Dairy Farm is believed to have come from the use of sludge, which is treated wastewater solids that can be spread on soil instead of using fertilizer.
