Portland to Remove Invasive Trees From Public Space

ASSOCIATED PRESS • December 20, 2020

Maine's largest city is removing invasive trees from one of its public spaces to restore views of the Fore River. Portland is taking away the Norway maple trees from Western Promenade. The removal of the trees will also allow more room for a future play space and community garden, city officials said. Future improvements to the area will include planting new native trees and landscaping.
