Ask a Naturalist: Why does a bird bash into windows repeatedly?

MAINE SUNDAY TELEGRAM • April 19, 2020

When a robin is seeing its reflection in the window it thinks that it is seeing a competitor for its territory. The only logical solution, to that robin, is to attack! But with each swipe, the foe remains in the window! Repeat attack. The solution is to break up that reflection. ~ Maine Audubon Staff Naturalist Doug Hitchcox
