MAINE ENVIRONMENTAL NEWS • August 24, 2020

On August 24, 2016, President Barack Obama proclaimed the establishment of Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. It was the direct result of a campaign for a National Park unit in the Maine Woods that was launched in 1994 by RESTORE: The North Woods.
