River restoration continues

MAINE ENVIRONMENTAL NEWS • January 23, 2021

According to the organization American Rivers, over the past year, in the United States:
• 9 dams were removed
• 887 miles of rivers were restored
• 452 miles of river habitat were reopened to fish and wildlife
• 24,804 volunteers participated in National River Cleanups removing 631,484 pounds of trash
