Maine Office of Tourism hopes to keep track of visitor through new pledge, app

As the pandemic worsens, the Maine Office of Tourism is trying to keep better track of visitors to the state through a new online pledge and app, as they try to make sure people follow the rules. Thursday's announcement was a direct response to the larger number of visitors Maine saw through the holiday season, and now state agencies are hoping to streamline the process of health checks for visitors through a website. The website, which can also be found on the Office of Tourism website, has a checklist of what is required of visitors, such as a negative COVID test within 72 hours, or a 10-day quarantine, and gives visitors the option to declare to their hotel or other destinations what route they are choosing to take to visit the state safely.
