Lisbon eyes electric vehicle charging stations

TIMES RECORD • January 18, 2021

Lisbon was selected to take part in a Central Maine Power pilot program that will bring four electric vehicle charging ports in downtown Lisbon Falls. There are no electric vehicle charging stations between the Brunswick and Lewiston area. Lisbon is located between those two larger metropolitan areas and having the charging stations will help draw electric and hybrid car owners to the town’s downtown area. The town would charge a fee for using the service. Sales of electric vehicles continue to grow. Maine aims to have 40,000 plug-in hybrids on the road by 2025.
