Editorial: Climate story comes home in Lobster Trap series

PORTLAND PRESS HERALD • December 14, 2021

Our rapidly warming climate is the biggest news story on our planet. Maybe the biggest story ever. A rare collaboration between The Boston Globe and the Portland Press Herald shows how a small island in Maine is at the center of this worldwide crisis. This is not a story that can be told in 280-character tweets or 45-second videos on social media. It’s also not a story that can banged out after a reporter makes a few phone calls. Producing The Lobster Trap took a commitment to listen to the people involved and understand their hopes and fears in all of their nuance.
