Bangor man on snowmobile seriously injured in Farmington after being struck by truck

A Bangor man was taken by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center after he was struck by a truck Saturday night on New Vineyard Road. Around 7:04 p.m., Troy Varney, 51, of Bangor was driving a 2003 Arctic Cat snowmobile in the area of 195 New Vineyard Road when he went to cross the street. Varney was struck by a 2007 Dodge 2500 pickup truck driven by Robert Blake, 34, of Wilton. Varney suffered head and facial trauma and was LifeFlighted to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. No arrests were made and the accident remains under investigation.
