Senate approves budget bill with amendment to allow completion of Keystone XL pipeline

The Senate approved a budget bill early Friday after an all-night session during which senators plowed through dozens of amendments in a chaotic process known as a “vote-a-rama.” One amendment that passed would overturn President Biden’s move to block completion of the Keystone XL pipeline. It passed with two Democrats — Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.) and Sen. Jon Tester (Mont.) — voting in favor.
