Rain washes out multiple coastal Maine roads, limits access to Acadia National Park

BANGOR DAILY NEWS • June 9, 2021

Storms on Tuesday night destroyed multiple roads in coastal Maine and prompted Acadia National Park to close one of its carriage roads for up to two months. The National Park Service will close parts of a carriage road from intersection 11 to 13 in order to repair damage from Tuesday night’s thunderstorms. The road may be closed for as long as two months. Thunderstorm damage cut off access to Schoodic Peninsula due to flooding.
