Letter: Retain Maine’s beauty, reject power corridor

SUN JOURNAL • July 3, 2021

The CMP corridor has nonpartisan opposition — Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated people are all part of the majority of Maine citizens who oppose it. It’s distressing to see elected officials supporting foreign-owned entities over their own constituents. And it’s unfair to ask citizens from all over Maine to give up our state treasure to solve the tax and budget problems of one town or city, be it Lewiston or anywhere else. Maine has a wonderful environmental treasure. Let’s not give that up forever to become an extension cord for Massachusetts. ~ Renee Cote, Auburn
