A year after the quietest summer in living memory, tourism in Maine has surged back with a vengeance, despite rampant understaffing, long periods of rain and rising coronavirus infections. Some businesses and destinations are on pace to set new revenue and visitor records this summer. “We are on course to set a visitation record by far,” said Acadia National Park acting public information officer John Kelly.
