An Industry man was listed in stable condition late Wednesday at a Bangor hospital after he was mistakenly shot by a friend while the two were bird hunting last weekend in Starks. The two were hunting Saturday in a field behind the Starks Town Office when their dog went on point toward nearby woods. David Dorr, 66, was walking ahead of his friend, a woman in her 60s from Rhode Island, when she moved into the woods to flush out the bird. She fired when the bird flew up and pellets hit Dorr in the face, chest and arm, Latti said. Dorr was taken by ambulance to Madison and then by a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
