One hundred years from now, our grandchildren will have inherited whatever truly accessible wild wilderness areas that the decisions we make today will have allowed them to have. Sears Island in Searsport is one such site. It is likely, if decisions made today do not value this undefiled and unique location, that in the near future it will be covered in multiple deep sea ports, noisy industrial machinery and petroleum storage tanks, that store not only petroleum but other “hazmat” substances. It will be our great-grandchildren who will get stuck holding the bag for our mistakes. ~ Bonnie Ewald, Brooks
