Fox found dead in Auburn near scene of earlier attacks

A fox found dead near Old Carriage Estates this week may be the same animal that attacked a woman and several dogs earlier in the month. The family of the 89-year-old woman who was attacked on Nov. 4 was notified this week that a gray fox had been found dead on a trail not far from the scene of the earlier attack. Three animals — two skunks and a bat — have tested positive for rabies in Androscoggin County since the start of the year.
