Editorial: Maine households need long-term plan for cutting energy costs

About 90,000 Mainers will get a one-time, $90 break on their electric bill if the Public Utilities Commission approves a proposal from Gov. Mills and the Office of the Public Advocate. A one-time, $90 credit is a good short-term break for the Mainers hit hardest by spiking power prices, but weatherization and other updates ultimately will make a bigger difference.
