More than $200 million from federal spending bill will fund projects across Maine

A massive spending bill that passed in the U.S. Senate on Thursday will bring more than $200 million to Maine for dozens of projects across the state, including:
• Renovate former East Millinocket paper mill site, $2,851,000
• Study reuse of wastewater plant at former Great Northern mill, $671,000
• Construct anaerobic digester at Madison Forest Products Hub, $1 million
• Advance large-scale, bio-based additive manufacturing, $10 million
• Develop energy efficient roof/wall construction assemblies, $2 million
• Expand safety training for wind turbine technicians, $988,000
• Conserve Kennebago headwaters for brook trout, $1 million
• Skowhegan Run of River Project, $2 million
• Preserve waterfront access in Stonington for fishing industry, $394,000
• Dredge Searsport Harbor, $1.6 million
• Plan for the future of Maine’s lobster industry, $765,000
• Catalyze Maine’s marine and agricultural economy, $919,000
• Train agricultural workers with the latest technologies, $600,000
• Establish training program for Maine’s seafood workforce, $977,000
• Upgrade Old Orchard Beach wastewater treatment facility, $1 million
• Roadway ped/bicycle improvements Edgecomb to Boothbay, $8 million
• Design new 11-mile segment of the Eastern Trail, $700,000
• Mitigate emerald ash borer, $300,000
• Improve science instruction for elementary ed teachers, $500,000
