Maine regulators propose tougher performance standards for power utilities

PORTLAND PRESS HERALD • March 24, 2022

The Maine Public Utilities Commission is considering a plan to add new performance standards and reporting requirements for the state’s power utilities through the rulemaking process that would be similar to those proposed in a pending bill being debated in the Legislature. The move would add metrics for service interruptions, reliability, customer service, billing performance and customer satisfaction. It would also require affected utilities to report those metrics to their customers each year.
