With inflation at a 40-year high, President Biden headed to corn-rich Iowa on Tuesday with a modest step aiming to trim gasoline prices by about a dime a gallon at a limited number of stations by waiving rules limiting ethanol blending. The Environmental Protection Agency will issue an emergency waiver to allow a 15 percent ethanol blend - a biofuel cheaper than gas – that is usually banned between June and September because of concerns that it adds to smog in high temperatures.
