The city is seeking public input on a new park being planned by the city of Lewiston’s Public Works Department that will span 14.6 acres near Webster Street. An extensive wetland network and vernal pool are components of the site. They absorb and filter storm water runoff and serve as a habitat for local wildlife. The wooded areas of the new park include steep slopes and vegetation. A parcel of private land is located in the park with no right-of-way access. So far, plans for the park include a nature trail, boardwalk, seating and natural play area. Pictures and more maps and visuals are included in the presentation prepared for the city. The Lewiston Public Works Department is seeking public feedback.
