WHO to Rename Monkeypox after Concerns of Racism, Stigma

The World Health Organization is planning to rename monkeypox to minimize discrimination and stigmatization as the virus continues to spread globally. More than 30 international scientists called for an "urgent" change to the name in an online report calling it "inaccurate" and "stigmatizing."
