PORTLAND PRESS HERALD • August 3, 2022

The combination of heat and humidity will make some spots feel like 100 degrees on Thursday, prompting towns to open cooling centers and remind people to take precautions. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory extending over a huge region starting in Sanford, slicing through Norway and Lewiston, to Augusta, Skowhegan, Bangor and Millinocket.
