Keeping it wild for Wild Blueberry Weekend in Maine

As part of Wild Blueberry Weekend in Maine, the Dores of Slow Rise Farm in Pittston were on hand Saturday at Fields Fields Blueberries in Dresden to demonstrate how fresh-picked wild blueberries are sorted, or winnowed, out from the leaves, sticks, bugs and whatever else gets picked up with them. In their case, that means using a winnower made by Zane Emerson of Maine Blueberry Equipment Co. in Columbia Falls.
