High Peaks Alliance gets $2 million to rebuild bridge over Sandy River in Farmington

The High Peaks Alliance in Farmington was awarded $2 million in federal funding to rebuild a bridge over the Sandy River that will connect into the 14-mile multiuse Whistle Stop Trail. The funding will be used to support the construction of a 336-foot multiuse bridge that will connect Farmington with Jay via the Whistle Stop Trail. It will be the longest recreational bridge of its type in Maine.
