Maine businesses, schools get smart at artificial intelligence meeting

A handful of Maine industries are using AI as a tool for increased efficiency and other competitive advantages. AI is used to help analyze data on fish stocks in the Gulf of Maine and help predict red tide or other algae blooms. UMaine is using AI to measure of soil moisture to determine optimal times for harvesting trees in remote areas. Scientists at Colby College are using it to scan billions of galaxies.
