Letter: Ignore anti-NECEC red herrings

PORTLAND PRESS HERALD • May 16, 2023

The New England Clean Energy Connect corridor will provide less expensive clean electricity and reduce our carbon footprint. Does it bother me that electricity will go to Massachusetts? No. Why should it? Does it bother me that Avangrid is mostly owned by a Spanish energy company? No, why should it? The fact that foreign investors want to invest in the U.S. is a good thing. By the way, I am a disabled Vietnam combat veteran. Please do not question my patriotism. ~ Douglas Robb, Bath
