Residential customers of Versant Power would pay roughly $5 more each month, an increase of 4%, under terms of a negotiated rate package announced Monday by the Maine Office of the Public Advocate. The deal, which must be approved by the Public Utilities Commission before going into effect, calls for Versant ratepayers to shell out an increase that would start July 1 and total $15.1 million. A second increase of the same amount would begin in January 2024.
