Maine Calling: Astronomy

MAINE PUBLIC • December 8, 2025

It’s a busy season in the sky this month, with the Geminid meteor shower peaking. And then there’s the mysterious 3I/ATLAS comet making its closest approach to Earth (could it be aliens?). Panelists: Shawn Laatsch, director, Astronomy Center, University of Maine; John Meader, owner/director, Northern Stars Planetarium; photographer.
