Fire damages Farmingdale firewood business

Fire destroyed the kiln at a Farmingdale firewood business Thursday morning, drawing a response from several area fire departments. Farmingdale fire Chief Dana Mealey said the kiln at A.W. Allen Firewood was destroyed by the fire, as were the 10 baskets of wood inside the kiln at the time. However, other buildings on the site were saved.
