Skowhegan ATV club says trails closed after shakeup over trail master’s past as sexual offender

The local ATV club announced its road access and trails were to close Friday, after a shakeup of its board in the wake of recent social media outrage over the club trail master’s status as a registered sexual offender. Recent commentary on Facebook last week over trail master Christopher White’s criminal history has led to death threats, according to his wife, Joanna White, who is also president of the Skowhegan Stump Jumpers ATV Club. Joanna White said she made the decision to close its trail system because it effectively no longer has a board to oversee the club. The announcement was posted Thursday on the group’s Facebook page.
