Clynk, the drop-off bottle and can redemption service, is closing its Biddeford processing facility and laying off dozens of workers. Chuck Riegle, a senior vice president for Tomra, the Norwegian resource recovery company that acquired Clynk last year, said the decision is part of a larger effort to modernize the South Portland-based company’s operations. On Wednesday, Clynk filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN notice, with the state indicating it will lay off 54 employees.
