Wabanaki Culture with Barry Dana, Sept 15th

Barry Dana, former Chief of the Penobscot Nation, will present an evening exploring Penobscot history, culture, and life on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:00 p.m. at the Emery Community Arts Center Performance Space in Farmington. Dana has dedicated much of his life to preserving and sharing Penobscot traditions through education and traditional arts. He is an accomplished birchbark basket maker whose work incorporates traditional designs, intricate artwork, and quill decoration. He also produces wood-fired maple syrup using traditional methods and regularly speaks at schools and community events throughout Maine. The event is free.
