Shark sighting shuts down swimming at Biddeford beaches

A great white shark was spotted near Biddeford beaches Thursday, shutting down swimming in some areas — the latest in a string of shark sightings along Maine’s coast. Swimming is prohibited between Fortunes Rocks Beach and Biddeford Pool for the rest of the day. The shark was spotted in the area of Granite Point and Timber Point.
